Press Kit

This Web site, "scottcooley.com," is Scott Cooley's press kit, but this page consolidates and summarizes information believed to be of greatest interest to members of the music media, print journalists, bloggers, podcasters, etc.  I guess it is "electronic" and "virtual" because it is a page of a web site.  A more traditional, printable PDF is provided below, which you can view online, print online, or download then print, however, you can print any page of this web site easily with the Print link in the footer, and you can easily save photos and copy/paste info throughout.  Using this site ensures you are getting the most accurate, up-to-date information in the fastest, self-service manner, while saving trees.  If you insist on hard copies, please keep in mind they will be printed from content that is already here, including photos that are already in suitable formats and resolutions you may download directly.  Use the Contact page to request these materials be printed or put on a CD and mailed to you;  to request information not found on these pages; or to ask specific interview questions.

Scott has most notably performed with the bands Surreal (pictured above) and Acoustic Jones.  He has been one half of the duos Steve Cobb & Scott Cooley and Corbin Daugherty & Scott Cooley.  He's also been in some other bands:  Driftwood, Lake Effect, Acoustic Something, The Bus Drivers, The Wide Awake Drunks and even a Kiss air guitar band at Camp Copeneconic.  His bandmates and collaborators have included the likes of Corbin Daugherty, Steve Cobb, Eric Whirley, Rich Marr, and Scott Thompson, to name a few.  Primarily Scott played lead acoustic guitar, and secondarily lead electric guitar, rhythm guitar, slide guitar, acoustic bass guitar, harmonica, hand percussion, and/or background vocals with those he has performed with, while singing a lead vocal only on a rare occasion.

  • Sound-alike comparisons are available on the Music > About page. No idea who I sound like, don't perform live, so no one to tell me.  To help alleviate this dilemma:  Listen to my songs for free on the Samples page, then enter a critique for each in the Song Critique form.
