My Sweetheart, My Darling

"My Sweetheart, My Darling"
Music & Lyrics by Scott Cooley.

My sweetheart, my darling, you're the best in the world

Voluptuous pleasure, when I think of you girl

Your skin is so creamy white like a pearl

Although I never could dance, but for you I'll give it a whirl

My sweetheart, my darling, you're like a cinnamon stick

You spice up my life, you give it a kick

Like an ice cream cone that I can't wait to lick

Just call my name and I'll come running quick

There's an ocean of love in your sweet heart

You know I'd do anything to get my fill

Feels like I'm barely alive when we're apart

But now I can't get my heart to be still

My sweetheart, my darling, you're one of a kind

I love you in your dress with the plunging neckline

Your kisses are sweeter than apple pie

It's Valentine's day and I'm happy you're mine

Brief Description

If I have written any songs that have a classic, old-timey/traditional/roots/folk/Americana-ish vibe to them, this has to be one of them.  It's hard to elaborate on why or how, particularly when those genres are so difficult to define and describe, but others who have listened to it agree with me.
