Fun In The Sun

Lyrics

"Fun In The Sun"
Music & Lyrics by Scott Cooley.

Yesterday I was happy, it’s like a dream to me now

Today is gonna be even better somehow

I see good things on the horizon, the forecast calls for sun

It’s gonna be a day at the beach, and it’s only just begun

I can see the sun smilin’ down at me

All my troubles are gone now, they’ve drifted off to sea

I can feel the sun shinin’ down on me

I know I deserve it, and I know it’s gonna set me free

The clouds have disappeared, and it’s time to have some fun

Now that I can see the sun

Today I’ll live my life the best way that I can

I’ll make it up as I go, and work hard to get a tan

I can tell it’s gonna be easy, I’ll proceed without a plan

My spirits way up in the sky, my feet still in the sand

I can see the sun smilin’ down at me

All my troubles are gone now, they’ve drifted off to sea

I can feel the sun shinin’ down on me

I know I deserve it, and I know it’s gonna set me free

The clouds have disappeared, and it’s time to have some fun

Now that I can see the sun

Sometimes you get on a roll, and everything goes your way

When life gives you lemons, you know what to make

It’s a walk in the park, it’s a piece of cake

It’s time to smell the roses, it’s time to make hey

Forget about work, and procrastinate

It’s your day in the sun, so soak it in and play

I can see the sun smilin’ down at me

All my troubles are gone now, they’ve drifted off to sea

I can feel the sun shinin’ down on me

I know I deserve it, and I know it’s gonna set me free

The clouds have disappeared, and it’s time to have some fun

Now that I can see the sun

Brief Description

Fun In The Sun  is one I wrote & recorded many, many years ago and it only made "borderline" status in my weeding out process.  Then I finally decided to re-record it and after a long break from the song, it came out way better, so it made it onto the album.  I rewrote some of it to improve it here and there.  This is generally about everything going your way, and feeling on top of the world, and you've got time off from your job, about to embark on a long break, and you plan to go to the beach and hang out and do nothing, and you're looking forward to it, and you check the weather for your vacation and it's going to be sunny and perfect.
