Keeping Me At Bay

Lyrics

"Keeping Me At Bay"
Music & Lyrics by Scott Cooley.

You can’t make up your mind about my kind

You get scared when I get too near

You turn your love light on so I can see it at night

Because it turns you on to feel the fear

You’re keepin’ me at bay, a safe distance from your shore

I’m a sailor tried and true, and you know I’ll be back for more

You’re keepin’ me at bay, I’m not so dangerous from far away

But it’s danger you desire, like a burnin’ fire

And I’m the one to put out the flame

You crave my attention, but it’s beyond my comprehension

Why you invite me in, but then don’t want me to stay

Afraid of what you might do, if you finally cut loose

You don’t like it when I sail too far away

You’re keepin’ me at bay, a safe distance from your shore

I’m a sailor tried and true, and you know I’ll be back for more

You’re keepin’ me at bay, I’m not so dangerous from far away

But it’s danger you desire, like a burnin’ fire

And I’m the one to put out the flame

You’re keepin’ me at bay, a safe distance from your shore

I’m a sailor tried and true, and you know I’ll be back for more

You’re keepin’ me at bay, I’m not so dangerous from far away

But it’s danger you desire, like a burnin’ fire

And I’m the one to put out the flame

Brief Description

It's hard for me to remember what was going though my head when I wrote this one.  I probably just thought of the title first, then filled in stuff around that.  It's not one of my best songs, but the music is pretty cool, and overall, the recording is pretty good (for me, anyway).  It definitely has enough going for it to hold your interest, and I'm not sure I could've made it any better.
