Stay

Lyrics

"Stay"
Music & Lyrics by Scott Cooley.

You make a difference, in so many ways

You make my life so much better

But I need you close, and I want you at home

‘Cause I can’t survive on phone calls and letters

So please don’t make me live in fear, it’s never the same without you here

Stay……….don’t go away

Stay.........come on and make my day

I want to be with you so much, I don’t ever want to let you go

So please stay…….I love you more than you’ll ever know

You’re so pretty, and you’ve got great taste

Your opinions mean so much to me

I trust you not to ever steer me wrong

You’re so smart I almost always agree

So please don’t make me live in fear, it’s never the same without you here

Stay……….don’t go away

Stay.........come on and make my day

I want to be with you so much, I don’t ever want to let you go

So please stay…….I love you more than you’ll ever know

When we’re together I’m on top of the world

When we’re apart, you’re always in my head

Sometimes I bust out laughing when I’m all alone

Thinkin’ ‘bout the funny things you’ve said

So please don’t make me live in fear, it’s never the same without you here

Stay……….don’t go away

Stay.........come on and make my day

I want to be with you so much, I don’t ever want to let you go

So please stay…….I love you more than you’ll ever know

Stay……….don’t go away

Stay.........come on and make my day

I want to be with you so much, I don’t ever want to let you go

So please stay…….I love you more than you’ll ever know

Forget about work..... it’s time to play

I love you more every single day, so please stay

Brief Description

After listening back quite a long time after writing and recording this, I liked the product a lot more than right when I finished it.  This is one of those "what women want to hear" songs, based on a discussion I had with my wife about the topic.  Her reaction upon hearing the song was something like "you can't just come right out and say it that directly" and she was right about that.  She's always right...and I tell her that frequently as I did in the song.  Tell them what they want to hear, and this does indeed help a relationship, but try to do it in a less obvious way - that really works.  Nevertheless, the music is good and the performance is good in my opinion.
