This comes from my educational background.  When you're an English major in college, you read books and write papers, and learn about the American Dream as a topic of books, and that all makes you think about writing your own version of the great American novel someday.  Most of us never do, but this is as close as I've come, which is to say it's pretty far from it.  It covers the things we're known for in this country, and warns that chasing it might not be all it's cracked up to be.  This is one where I wrote most of the lyrics a decade or more ago, and finally finished it in 2013.  It's probably naive and pretentious and preachy and annoying, but my wife liked it, so I released it.  There are some good rhymes in there, for sure.  I may have dressed this one up with too much instrumentation, and maybe it's better with just a single acoustic guitar, I don't know.  You be the judge.
