"Revolving Doors"
Written by Scott CooleyThere’s too much hurry, and worry
People scurry but they’ve got to slow down
Ladies shopping, they’re in and they’re out
I guess they like it that way
Revolving doors, you can’t fit in my section with me
You've got to wait ‘till the next one is free
Revolving doors, you could trip and fall down on the floor
Trapped in the middle forever more
Revolving doors
There’s too much speed, yes indeed
People need it but they’ve got to slow down
Little kids goin’ round and around
I guess they like it that way
Revolving doors, they're like roundabouts are for cars
Or maybe like black holes are for stars
Revolving doors, they're fishbowls for folks who make haste
And rotating drums to keep pace
Revolving doors
There’s no need to lurk, that won’t work
And when you push, it just might come to shove
If you're impatient, you won't feel the love
They won’t like it that way
Revolving doors, laughter is mostly assured
For candid camera smart phone voyeurs
Revolving doors, don't be afraid to give one a try
Just step in to your piece of the pie
Revolving doors
Revolving doors, some think that they're so much fun
But you might not ever be one
Revolving doors, you've got people waiting for you
Find an opening and just walk through
Revolving doors, revolving doors
Thoughts: I'm not advocating for seeking out the experience of getting yourself into an altered state somehow and then hanging out somewhere that has a good view of a revolving door for pure observational entertainment, but it's something one can certainly do.
