Album Redux, New Album Coming Soon, Site Updates, Free Stuff, More Stores, More Top 10 Lists, Thanks To German Fans, Helping Flint's Homeless

It's been a long time since I posted an announcement with news updates on my ongoing music adventure.

Revamped Albums

At then end of 2011 / beginning of 2012 I re-released four of my albums for the following reasons:

    • I wanted to make them all have 13 songs each instead of 9

    • I wanted to better group songs that fit a theme for each album

    • I wanted to include some previously-unreleased songs on each

    • I wanted to re-record some songs entirely

    • I wanted to remix some songs

    • I wanted to remaster all previously-released songs

    • I wanted to get rid of the Homegrown album entirely

The albums (and original release years) are Moon Dreams (2004), Lakeside Landing (2006), Drive Time Companion (2008), and Sense Of Belonging (2010).

In Stores Now

These are now available for sale on Google Play, Amazon, and iTunes.

Amazon also sells Compact Discs of these four albums, which are the highest quality you can get. They will package them and ship them to you. For more info, see the Store page or the CDs page.

They are also available as MP3 downloads & streams on a whole bunch of other online stores (My Space, Zune, Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic, CD Baby, Spotify, many more) and radio stations (Last.fm, iHeart Radio) listed here: MP3s

Coming Soon

I'm putting the finishing touches on my next album now, Cherchez La Femme, which will be the fifth full-length album I will have available for sale, due out for release on June 21st 2012.

Website Updates

Too numerous to mention are the various updates I've made to this website in recent months. They include primarily updating the album, song and store pages according to the aforementioned "revamp" project, but they also include a couple new blog posts, and new pages such as the humorous SCDb and Scottipedia pages.

Free Christmas Album

The 2010 album, A Cooley Christmas, which contains my cover versions of popular holiday favorites, was released for free on YouTube. You can enjoy the whole thing from the convenience of this site as well here: A Cooley Christmas.

Free Samples of Entire Catalog

You can now listen to every single song from every single album absolutely free anytime you want with no strings attached online at Bandcamp (scottcooley.bandcamp.com):

The rationale here is that I recognize people need to hear something before they decide to buy it. Just like in the old days when you would listen to the radio before deciding to buy an album, it is now done online by most people.

More Baffling Top Ten Lists

As of this post (April, 2012), the top ten at the big three are as follows:

Once again, these boggle my mind. Why? Because it freaks me out how important catchy titles are, and also, that I don't necessarily think these are my best songs. Must be a significant difference between the tastes of the kinds of people who use each service to buy music from too. It's pointless to analyze, because it's all good. Whoever you are, you are awesome!

Special Thanks To German Fans

It has recently come to my attention that I have fans in Germany who have purchased my albums. Thank you!!! We at scottcooley.com hereby love all German people because of this, even though we don't know you. We'd like to though - so if you're a Scott Cooley music buyer from Germany, and feel like contacting us to let us know more about you and what you like about it, we would love to hear from you!

Helping The Homeless In Flint

I've pledged all tips received through June of this year from donations through Noisetrade for the free download of my song The Invisible Man to the South Flint Soup Kitchen. Scroll to near the bottom of the Store page of this site for more information.
